a Chanukah tarot spread*
The last night/day of Chanukah is considered ZOT Chanukah! This is Chanukah!
נֵס גָּדוֹל הָיָה [שם] פֹּה
“A great miracle happened here/there”. 4 letters: nun, gimmel, hay, pey or shin, representing 4 of the words above are written on the Chanukah dreidel. There’s a pey (פ) for here if you are in Israel and a shin (ש) for there if you are outside Israel. Chanukah commemorates the recovery of Jerusalem by the Maccabees and the rededication of the Second Temple in Jerusalem after the Jewish victory over the Seleucid (Greek) Empire in 164 BC.
“At the beginning of time, there shone a unique light called the Ohr Haganuz… the Hidden Light. With this light you could see from one end of the Creation to the other. Even though the Creator hid away the Ohr Haganuz after the first thirty-six hours of Creation, there are times when you can still catch glimpses of its hidden glow”. The thirty-six candles lit on Chanukah correspond to the thirty-six hours during which the Ohr Haganuz shone”. -‘Seasons of the Moon- Cheshvan/Kislev’ Ohr Somayach 2000
